Solar Power
Five buildings on the Mountainside campus are outfitted with solar photovoltaics with a capacity of 83kW.
Geothermal Power
A radiant heat floor system circulates warm or cool water to help regulate temperature in the Event Building.
Wind Power
The 10kW Burgey wind turbine paired with our solar system allow us to operate as a net-zero campus.
Green Features
The Event Building is also equipped with large fans, LED lights, a sky light, and south-facing windows to aid in energy conservation.
Renewable Energy Systems and Sustainability
The Mountainside campus is a showcase for renewable energy systems and green building, the act of designing and creating structures that are environmentally conscious and resource efficient. In 2016, Bar-T was the first business to be approved for Frederick County's Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy (C-PACE) program. The C-PACE program provides loans for businesses and non-profits to implement renewable energy systems and water conservation programs.
